The yin to the yang of the large outdoor sauna is a nimble first floor electric model constructed by my dad in summer of 2023. My mother designed this into the original floorplan of the house, which being a slab-on-grade house, takes careful planning as the plumbing is quite static.

Powered by a small Helo stove, this toaster oven heats in 30 minutes and seats 2. It’s got a delay timer, which allows for up to 2 hours of delay before starting. It’s quite practical to come back to a hot sauna after cross country skiing with this feature.

It gets fired on a daily basis.
